Numeri cardinali e numeri ordinali

I numeri in inglese, così come in italiano, si dividono in cardinali e ordinali: i primi si usano generalmente per indicare una quantità (uno, due, tre, …), mentre i secondi sono usati per ordinare cose, persone, ecc… (il primo, il secondo, il terzo, …). Quelli ordinali si formano aggiungendo -th al cardinale corrispondente, tranne alcune eccezioni (first, second, third, fifth, twentieth).
