Anne e Michael sono a casa e stanno aspettando Peter che andrà a pranzo da loro: “What time is it? – It’s two o’clock – Peter is late…”

What time is it? It’s two o’clock
APPUNTI:
It = Esso.
It è il pronome che usiamo quando ci riferiamo a qualcosa di neutro (es. un oggetto). II pronome it si usa anche per chiedere indicare I’ora:
what time is it ? – che ore sono ?
it’s one o’clock – è I’una
it’s two o’clock – sono le due
I primi sei numeri in inglese:

6 – six

Anne: What time is it?
Michael: It’s two o’clock.
Anne: Peter is late.
Michael: Yes, he’s late.
Anne: And I’m hungry.
Michael: Yes, I’m hungry too.
(Bussano alia porta)
Anne: Peter’s here. Go and open the door.
(Michael va ad aprire la porta)
Anne: Peter?
Michael: No.
Anne: Oh, I’m hungry.
(Passa un po’ di tempo)
Anne: What time is it?
Michael: It’s three o’clock.
Anne: Peter’s late.
Michael: Yes, he’s late.
Anne: And I’m hungry.
Michael: Yes, I’m hungry too.
(Bussano di nuovo alla porta)
Anne: Peter’s here. Go and open the door.
Michael: Peter’s here.
Anne: Hallo, Peter. How are you?
Peter: Hallo, Anne. I’m very well, thank you. How are you?
Anne: You’re late. Peter.
Peter: Yes, I’m late. I’m sorry.
Michael: Never mind. It’s time to eat.
Anne: Oh dear!
Michael: What’s wrong, Anne?
Anne: I’ve forgotten to cook any food. You’ll have to wait.

Michael: Sono le tre.
Anne: Peter è in ritardo.
Michael: Si, è in ritardo.
Anne: E io ho fame.
Michael: Si, anche io ho fame.
(Bussano di nuovo alla porta)
Anne: Peter è qui. Vai ad aprire la porta.
Michael: Peter è qui.
Anne: Ciao, Peter. Come stai?
Peter: Ciao, Anne. Molto bene, grazie. Come stai?
Anne: Sei in ritardo. Peter.
Peter: Si, sono in ritardo. Mi dispiace.
Michael: Non importa. È ora di mangiare.
